South Coast Plaza today officially debuted The Penthouse, its new luxury wing. Located on the third level, adjacent to Nordstrom, the new wing at the top of the center features Orange County exclusives Christian Louboutin, CANALI, Oscar de la Renta, SoCa St. John and acclaimed French bistro Marché Moderne.
The Penthouse, aptly named by Oscar de la Renta chief executive officer, Alex Bolen, offers a luxurious shopping and dining environment for discerning customers.
“It appeals to a clientele who wants a more private shopping experience,” said Anton Segerstrom, partner, South Coast Plaza. “This sophisticated mix of luxury brands appeals to clients both locally and internationally.”
The chic, 20,000-square-foot wing is also home to the recently launched SoCa boutique, the flagship store for St. John’s newest contemporary concept. In keeping with the private feel of the new shopping thoroughfare, Louis Vuitton will also be adding a VIP suite to The Penthouse next year.
“The best hideaways don’t stay private for long,” said Debra Gunn Downing, South Coast Plaza’s executive director of marketing. “There has already been tremendous buzz about The Penthouse, from the opening of Marché Moderne and SoCa St. John to the unstoppable Louboutin fans who have been snapping up the crimson soled shoes as quickly as the boutique can stock them.”
The center plans to add additional boutiques to The Penthouse, but no official announcements have been made at this time.
